About Our Methods and Quality

We take our time to create the most accurate and detailed oil paintings possible. All of our paintings are done on canvas in the traditional way. The canvas is primed, stretched on wooden bars, and painted on our studio easels. Each painting will go thru several stages and will take 3-4 weeks to complete. This time is period is required to achieve the proper texture and overall look; the paint needs time to dry before a new layers are added. This is certainly not the fastest way to complete a painting, but it is the best way; we do not rush our work. We will send your custom painting directly from our studio to your door anywhere in the world.

Originally conceived by a Hong Kong businessman who began production with several dozen artists in 1989, the village has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 20 years. Now 5,000 artists live and work in Dafen Village and its immediate surroundings. Meandering through the narrow shady lanes for hours is a delight; you can see shopkeepers napping in the afternoon heat and old men reading newspapers in the shade. Children run around playing and shouting and the scents of painting oils permeated the air. To the right are two photo collages incorporating the sites of Dafen Village; it is truly the Santa Fe and Taos of the Far East.
